Synthesis

Looking at the juxtaposing idea of transition from the old to new by Soni, I decided to illustrate the old architecture is the foundation of contemporary design, and taking that into literal sense, the modern facade with metal panels was opened up to view the internal structure of foundation with juxtaposing timber material against the steel exterior.

The site building chosen for this is located on Green where Soni made his project.

The exterior of the Railway Station was replaced and overcoated with steel material, arranged in an irregular pattern but also in a rectilinear manner to express stability within reconstruction. Another point conveyed is the idea of industrial ingenuity and the attitude of 'working with what you've got'. The evident layering of the new, reflecting back to the viewer is almost to hide the inner facade of the concept, which also relates back to the initial idea of reusing.

The site building chosen for this is located on Blue, the old Railway Station that was remade into an apartment building.

The location chosen for the idea of gathering was the Vector Arena Park where it is situated in-between the line of proposed sites for the 'Sustenance' project and the 'Waking Up' project. This becomes an essential point of location as approriate for urban space. Having reviewed the time for me to walk from the park to both projects' proposed sites, it was safe to assume they were both in walking distance and both almost 3 minutes of walking apart. This augmented drawing emphasized on the structural element of facade of Maison de Verre, a pattern within a pattern, graduating on its scale, almost to compare growth people gather and gather.

The site building chosen for this is located on Red.
